Rocky Mountain Subs LLC Owned by Monmouth natives Peter and Kristin Sorensen, Rocky Mountain Subs LLC is a dominate player in Subway franchise restaurants in western Illinois. The Sorensen’s teamed up with Prairie Hills to finance two new Subway restaurants recently; one in Bushnell and the other in Galva. Prairie Hills helped the Sorensen’s purchase two other Subways in Hamilton and Farmington several years ago and they were satisfied with Prairie Hills to seek additional funding. David King, Prairie Hills Executive Director, said that the Sorensen’s are hard workers, have a solid business plan model, and are excellent role models for young business owners.
The Costello Group – Abingdon NAPA Parts Store and Aledo NAPA Parts Store Prairie Hills teamed up with the Citizens Bank Branch of the Morton Community Bank to finance a new business in Abingdon, IL, and one recently in Aledo, IL. Jordan Costello purchased the NAPA business from the previous owner who were ready to retire in Abingdon. Jordan, a Western Illinois University graduate, visited Citizens Vice President Ray Bunch to line up financing, and Ray contacted Prairie Hills to complete the financial arrangements. Jordan will be holding a “Grand Opening" soon.
Schuy-Rush Hike And Bike Trail Comprehensive Plan
Prairie Hills contracted with the Grow Rushville Parks and Recreation Group to develop a comprehensive plan to develop a master plan to connect the city of Rushville and Schuy-Rush Park. The plan was completed in June 2015 and will be used by the Grow Rushville Group to develop and submit grant proposals for funding.
